The Open Door Centre – supporting the community during COVID19

06 May 2020

The Open Door Centre exists to make a positive difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities, enabling members to achieve their highest potential.  A range of activities within a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment takes place and members are involved in every level of decision making about the running of the Centre.

‘Members are encouraged to be independent adults, understanding their rights and choices, in order to become respected, confident, valued members of society, said Jenny Stacey, Centre Manager of The Open Door Centre.

‘Of course the centre has had to close during the current restrictions, but we continue to support our members by phone and also provide a takeaway/delivered lunch three times a week. We are determined to keep all our members safe and well.’
